Paul’s defense of the oil company came during an interview as he tried to explain his controversial take on civil rights law, an issue that has overtaken his campaign since his victory in Tuesday’s GOP primary.
“What I don’t like from the president’s administration is this sort of, ‘I’ll put my boot heel on the throat of BP,’” Paul said in an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business.”

UPDATE: I love his “accidents happen, oh well” attitude to a man-made environmental disaster. BTW, BP has been far less than clear about their culpability in this case, and already started the finger pointing game. They will, most likely, go the Exxon route and tie the money up in court until they get a sympathetic administration. That’s one of the perks of being a multi-national-multi-billionaire who’s livelyhood wasn’t just destroyed by the one of the more powerful organizations on the planet.
