Why it is Republicans seem like they’re in junior high as regards sane tax policy

Norquist insists he’s not bothered by any hedging on the part of the freshmen. “I don’t lie awake at night thinking any of these characters are going to vote for a tax increase,” Norquist said. “The leadership is not going to bring it up. All but six Republicans in the House have signed the pledge and they have a 25-vote margin. It’s a moot point.”

nanny nanny boo boo, he cobtinued. If you haven’t seen the Daily Show where Grover revealed when his “no new taxes, ever” grand idea was born….I would suggest you watch it. It definitely outs things in perspective….just like Peter G. Peterson spending 4 $450,000,000 to get people to repeat the “real problem” is spending (not his, of course, he gets to speech all he wants to, with no limits for his corporate entities). +–+ GOP rookies buck Grover Norquist – Kate Nocera – POLITICO.com http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76470.html

Republicans making last ditch effort to slow economy before November

WASHINGTON (AP) — Are Republican lawmakers deliberately stalling the economic recovery to hurt President Barack Obama’s re-election chances? Some top Democrats say yes, pointing to GOP stances on the debt limit and other issues that they claim are causing unnecessary economic anxiety and retarding growth. The latest Democratic complaint came after House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday that when Congress raises the nation’s borrowing cap in early 2013, he will again insist on big spending cuts to offset the increase. Boehner, R-Ohio, continues to reject higher tax rates, which Democrats demand from the wealthy.

After the debacle and downgrade last year, the Republicans and going to try again….becaise while they split the blame for the failed deal, Obama gets all the ‘credit’ for the fallout. Very few folks recall that the Republican position is that debt only matters when Democrats are in control. I’d say to let Romney win to prove this point..but it’s already well established and electing another guy that says the key to cutting the deficit is tax cuts and military spending would be the colloquial definition of insane. Oh…and if you don’t know Peter Peterson (the guy who bought this podium Boehner is using in the attached picture) he’s the one who has spent $450,000,000 out of his billions claiming to convince a surprising number of people the U.S. is both broke and his taxes are too high (he pays less than 15% already…like Romney). —- Is GOP trying to sabotage economy to hurt Obama? – NewsTimes http://www.newstimes.com/news/article/Is-GOP-trying-to-sabotage-economy-to-hurt-Obama-3570760.php
