I have a goal that I’m trying to stick to.
A long time ago there was a name for “free” webservers. It was called “Apache”.
The alternatives where $N,NNN licenses from Oracle or Microsoft of whatever.
Then, things changed.
Now, super-light “oh, you just need *that*” node servers exist. A few lines of code (and a 100MB library) later and you’re serving HTML, like the old days.
So…my game (50) has a front end and a back end. My hope and goal is that the game engine (which I hope to open source at some point) can stick with the classic style. It should be that way. So that’s a goal.
Currently “parcel” is my biggest f-ing issue. Literally have 10GB of useless crash folders on my Windows dev box.
Oh…”npm run start” should work the same on Windows and Mac machines. This is…quite a bit trickier than it should be, but is still a goal.
Lots of good work done on my ‘vacation’ (4 traveling kiddos is always a circus). Actions/battles/levels progressing…
