Just kinda glancing at the RNC on the TV waiting for the VPilf to speak. I did catch this get so far…
This one goes on for a bit, so I’ll ad a jump..
“Throw out those big government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin.” -Mitt Romney
Ummm, aren’t Replublicans in charge right now? And if I hear the words “executive experience” one more time, I’m going to puke. How about executive education? From a comment from USA Today..
Mikala wrote: 57m agoAnyone with an ounce of sense knows what this is and it isn’t good for America. You people on the right have been blasting Obama who is a Princeton and Harvard Law graduate this woman has a BS in Journalism . Obama taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago and practiced civil rights law Palin was in a beauty pageant and was a sports announcer. Obama was a Illinois State Senator which has many cities with larger populations than all of Alaska. Palin was a city council member and mayor of a town of 6000 and Governor of Alaska for 18 months. Obama wrote legislation for Illinois and the Federal Government while Palin signed legislation that someone else wrote. It can’t be all that difficult to be a governor of a State that gives all it citizens a check from oil revenue every year.If Obama has no experience that does Palin have?? Less than 0 and she doesn’t know what the VP does in her own words. God help this Nation if McCain wins.
And I’m not going to puke the next time I hear that I that Alaska is close to Russia and therefore Sarah Palin is an expert in international relations (I already lost lunch the first time) I heard it again this time and from someone who I previously thought had a brian, not Steve Doocy, whom I know doesn’t.
And does the fact that Alaska has been in a boom time economically ever since gas-prices skyrocketed mean anything to anyone? Yea, that’s some great experience, divvying up the windfall tax on oil companies.
It looks like someone is almost being honest…off camera. I kinda thought eveyone else realized McCain was crazy. Right now they think it, but can’t say it on air. Watch that link and you hear what they really think, not the talking point bullshit.
Anyway, back to Romney’s speech…eh…pretty much a standard conservatives good / liberals bad speech.
Huckabee now…wow…WE ARE VICTIMS!!! I can’t believe how quickly and how often the Republicans are playing the sexist card. I had a great picture of the Republicans the last time they tried to establish their dominion over women. It was Bush signing the horribly-named “Partial-Birth” bill. It was later struck down all over the place. The picture was great because it was Bush surrounded by seven or eight old, rich white guys. Funny stuff.
“Americans want lesst government.” – Mike Huckabee. Yes, less, useless, partisan, intrusive, government. Like the ones the Republicans have led for eight years. But back to the victim thing…I mean…wow. Such whiners. It’s been two days and I’ve hear more cries of sexism than Hillary made during the entire race. And I still think that lost it for her. If they think she is going to win because she’s a victim of the big, bad, media…I just dunno. I can’t imagine that will work.
I love how the media is evil. Except for Fox, and the WSJ, and Limbaugh, O’Reilly and the AM radio crowd, and the conservative commentators on every show spewing “executive experience”. The hypocrisy of the Republicans is this regard knows no bounds.
“I am so tired of hearing her lack of experience. She got more votes in Wasilla than Biden got for running for President of the U.S.” Quick factcheck….Wasilla votes….900….Biden…over 50,000 (18K in Cal)…I think Biden might have actually gotten more than Palin did for governor (100k total)
“POW, POW, POW. He can’t even lift his arms to his shoulder.”

Now they are surrounding the stage with women.
One other thing I wanted to touch on while I’m waiting. This whole “Alaska National Guard” thing. This is a joke as well, as needs to be nipped in the bud.
Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, considers Palin “extremely responsive and smart” and says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the National Guard is the first responder.
But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska National Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations.
Giuliani is coming up. I wonder if he’s going to mention 9/11 (which add up to $20 according to those damn commercials).

“LOL, what’s a community organizer?”. “He couldn’t figure out whether to say ‘yes or no’. It was too tough!” (eyes bulging). “He voted ‘present’.” “Sarah Palin couldn’t vote ‘present'”. Wow, this guy is funny…I guess…to some people.
“[Obama is] the kind of the thing that can only happen in America!” (laughter from crowd). That laughter was a bit disturbing.
“No time for on-the-job training.” Right…so elect Bush again, and that woman who just got her passport.
“Good change and bad change.” “I’m a trial lawyer”.
Specifics: Lower taxes, reduce government, expand free trade, lead to energy independence….ummm….Rudy?…those aren’t specifics. Saying “all of the above approach” is about as inspecific as possible. “Drill, baby, drill” = Republican Energy Policy. Awesome. And what do we do in 10 years when that oil is sucked dry? Hmmm?
“Democrats afriad to use the words, islamic terrorism. Islamic terrorism. Let’s insult terrorists. And muslims. Fuck ’em. 9/11!!!!!” You knew it was coming.
Iraq won the Iraq War, Mr. Giuliani. That’s part a victory for us. To claim it all for the “Surge” is retarded, at best.
“Undivided Jerusalem for one day, then he changed his mind.” Ummm, what? Who is it you represent again?
“We are all Georgians!” What?! We are going to war with Russia because South Ossetia wants to secede from Georgia? What?!
All in all, pretty much an attack dog speech. Comparing running NYC to Wasilla was pretty funny, but Rudy went with it.

Nice post – I’m impressed you can watch. I’m just reading the transcripts, makes me less nauseous.
Yea, it was not easy to watch. The sarcasm and cynicism coming from the {R}’s was palpable. The funny part is how they are going after the corruption in Washington..that is pretty much all Republican…and Palin took on corruption…that was all Republican.
Watching them all throw Stevens under the bus has been amusing, however.
Guiliani’s speech was delivered nicely and he is a good speaker but it was totally off base and totally retarded. WHat I think was really funny was how he blasted Obama for being a “hollywood” type, self promoter etc.. when if it wasn’t for 9/11 happening, do you really think Rudy would even be on that stage?
