“As has been said long ago, politics ain’t beanbags,” [Romney] said. “We’re battling to become the nominee. He’s going to do it the way he thinks is best. I’m going to do it the way I think is best. So far my process has given me a good start. I know we’re going to go on. But I’m feeling pretty good at this point.”
…
Negative ads accounted for 92% of political ads airing in Florida over the last week — a record rate for political campaigns, according to the Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks advertising content and spending.
So, in case you missed it, Romney has figured out that paying people to say bad things about his opponents…and we’re talking lots of people and lots of things…seems to work pretty good. This is not a new thing, but I do think Mittens will take it to a different level.
He can’t best Obama on issues, so it’s going to have to be done with raw hate.
There’s a lot of that Romney can, and will, stir up, but it’s not going to beat the love train.
