Sorry, I hate to complain, and apologize.

Both are generally wastes of time, our only real resource as mortal sentient beings

Venting, on the other hand, helps keep us sane in an insane world. This political world that I watch is insane because of the lies that are told, heard, repeated, and acted upon as if they are anything but what they are.

Lies.

Bald-faced, obviously untrue, fact-checked, hashed-out, settled upon….LIES.

The problem here, and this comes from someone who knows about the contribution George Boole provide to types of data we can conceive of…calling something a lie puts on in a difficult place.

Proving it. You see, the human mind is a rationalization machine. That’s one of the main things it does, make sense of the world and tell “you” a story about what the fuck is going on (which is generally incomprehensible in a number of ways).

Lies fuck this whole process up. Bad. Real bad.

Again, to set a baseline, as sentient entities we can only rationalize the world we know, or know of. The world we know is the one provided to us by our five senses directly. The world we know of the is the one provided to us by the media. The “mediums”. The voices, telling us stuff about things that happened outside of the world we know.

The world beyond our senses.

The role of the kind of person that you can trust to do this for you is, Platonically, known as the “journalist.”

And that’s where we are broken now. The industrialization/commercialization/corporatization of “news” has torn us to pieces.

Again — baseline — “news” is just “new information” or “new things” pluralized. New information about the world beyond our senses. The world we can only know of, and never know directly.

Everything we know of the world we get from these mediums, these media.

That was the filter for “news.” And now it’s gone.

Or so it would seem.

For all that is forgotten is not necessarily lost. Some things linger beyond their grave. Ideas, concepts, ideals…the stuff of pure thought. Memes, I think we call them now.

The idea, the meme, the understanding, that YOU MUST FIND GOOD FILTERS FOR MEDIA

You MUST find something who can do that Boolean calculation FOR YOU.

Is it true, or is it false?

Because there’s the kicker: the human brain isn’t a computer. We don’t store data in well defined types, with pre-defined values. We don’t/can’t filter on “FALSE”. That’s not how we work.

Quick example…I‘be got a bunch of kids. I’ve long learned that appending a “Don’t” to a command leads to a very easy edit that indicates full approval for the action in question.

Our minds are rationalization machines. Rationalizing false information isn’t possible, It’s all treated like real.

Find good filters. Because the old ones are dead and gone.
